NAPERVILLE – Carroll senior guard Kate Christian is the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Athlete of the Week in Women’s Basketball, according to an announcement from the league office on Monday afternoon.

Christian produced a balanced effort in a pair of CU wins last week, averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals in victories over St. Norbert and Beloit on back-to-back days. She went 12-for-18 from the field and 4-for-7 from 3-point range.

In the Dec. 29 win over SNC, the New London, Wis. native went 6-for-7 from the floor for 13 points with six assists and five steals in the Pios’ 71-43 win. Less than 24 hours later, Christian delivered a career-high 20 points to lift Carroll to a 64-53 triumph at Beloit. She hauled down six boards and distributed four more assists over 31 minutes in the road win, the Pioneers’ fifth win in its last six contests since Nov. 26.

Monday’s announcement marks Christian’s first career weekly honor from the league and Carroll’s first CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week selection in women’s basketball since Katie Evans on Jan. 3, 2022.
