NAPERVILLE – Wheaton midfielder Audrey Sexson (offense) and Carroll goalkeeper Caitlin Fitzsimons (defense) have been named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
 
Offense: Audrey Sexson, Wheaton
Playing in the final match of the regular season, Sexson scored both Wheaton goals in the Thunder’s 2-2 draw with Millikin last Wednesday at Joe Bean Stadium. The Mahtomedi, Minn. native scored the match-tying goal with just 53 seconds remaining, burying a free kick for her eighth goal of the season.
 
Defense: Caitlin Fitzsimons, Carroll
Fitzsimons, a senior from Oak Lawn, Ill., earned her eighth shutout of 2023 last Wednesday, making four saves in the full 90 minutes to help the Pioneers defeat North Park, 3-0. The performance also marked her fourth shutout during the CCIW schedule.
