NAPERVILLE, Ill. - With the 2026 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Tournament drawing ever closer, points are at a premium for each team in the conference. The performances this past week from North Central’s Reese Anderson and Wheaton’s Lydia Martin helped their teams maintain one of the top spots in the standings and earned them CCIW Women’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week awards.

Offensive
Reese Anderson, North Central (Forward, Junior, Bloomington, Ill.)
Anderson scored a goal in each of North Central’s two matches this week, helping keep the Cardinals unbeaten on the season. A goal in the seventh minute against Millikin spurred NCC to a 2-1 win before she notched the tying goal in the 76th minute against Carroll. North Central would add the game-winning tally in the 84th minute to defeat the Pioneers, 3-2, and stay in a tie at the top of the CCIW at 3-0-1 in conference play. Anderson finished with nine shots in the two matches, with five on goal.
Defensive
Lydia Martin, Wheaton (Goalkeeper, Sophomore, Las Vegas, Nev.)
A pair of shutouts this past week from Martin has kept Wheaton near the top of the conference race. The sophomore stopped two shots in a 2-0 win over Augustana midweek and then came back on Saturday with one save to maintain a 0-0 stalemate with Carthage. Those four points have kept the Thunder alone in third place in the CCIW and just two points back of the conference leaders.
