NAPERVILLE – North Central’s Kendra Ryan collected eight victories last week in the 109-pound weight class to secure the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Wrestling Student-Athlete of the Week award, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Seven of Ryan’s eight wins were by technical falls. Included in her successful run was a 1201 victory over national champion Paulina Granados of McKendree at the Adrian Duals in Adrian, Mich. She also produced 10-0 victory over Indiana Tech All-American Tehani Soares on Saturday.
In Sunday’s action, the junior from Fenton, Mich. won five times to win the Adrian Open. All five wins came by an 8-0 score, including a triumph in the final over Kaelani Shufeldt of Lock Haven.
