NAPERVILLE – North Central’s Lindsey Novak and Alex Draves have been named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Athletes of the Week in Women’s Indoor Track & Field for the second consecutive week, the league announced Wednesday. Both Novak and Draves are four-time recipients of the league’s weekly honor in 2022-23.
 
Novak – a previous CCIW winner this season on Jan. 18, Jan. 25 and Feb. 8 – won the 200 meters at the Pat Heenan Invitational in Naperville on Saturday with a time of 25.04 seconds, a new North Central record. Her time of 7.75 seconds in the 60 was a new personal best and the Lombard, Ill. native ran a leg of the Cardinals’ 4x400-meter relay squad that claimed second place at the event.
 
Draves broke North Central’s indoor record in the weight throw for the third time this winter with a throw of 18.02 meters. Her effort was good enough for first place in the event in Naperville. The senior from Verona, Ill. was previously CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week on Jan. 18, Jan. 25 and Feb. 8., having earned the honor in four of the last five weeks.
