NAPERVILLE – Jereme Ombogo of North Park has won his third consecutive College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Athlete of the Week award and North Central’s Anthony Diverne is a first-time winner, according to the league’s announcement for Men’s Indoor Track and Field on Wednesday afternoon.
Ombogo, now a four-time CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week this season, broke a CCIW record in the indoor 200 with a time of 21-39 seconds at the GVSU Tune-Up hosted by Grand Valley State last Friday afternoon. The Houston native’s performance in the 200 was also the 10th-fastest in Division III history. Ombogo also broke a North Park record in the 400 with a time of 48.85 seconds to win the event at GVSU.
Diverne cleared 4.40 meters in the pole vault to win the event last Friday afternoon at the F. Lee Slick Invitational in Naperville. His performance ranked third on the CCIW list this winter and helped the Cardinals to a team win at the meet.
