NAPERVILLE – After a victory over a nationally ranked opponent and a second-place finish at Sunday’s Bearcat Open, North Central junior Salome Walker is the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Wrestling Student-Athlete of the Week.
The Mishawaka, Ind. native pinned fifth-ranked Holly Beaudoin of Colorado Mesa in the semifinal after defeating national qualifiers Athena Willden of William Jewell and JoLynn Harris of host McKendree as part of her effort in the 136-pound bracket in Lebanon, Ill.
Walker is the seventh Cardinal to earn CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week honors this season.
