NAPERVILLE – For the second consecutive week and third time since the start of the outdoor season, North Central’s Max Svienty is the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Outdoor Track Student-Athlete of the Week. North Park’s Clark Fremouw is Wednesday’s CCIW Field Student-Athlete of the Week.
Svienty was a two-time winner at last Saturday’s Don Church Invitational in Wheaton, sweeping the 1,500 meters and 3,000 meters to lead the Cardinals to a third-place team finish. The junior from Arlington Heights, Ill. clocked in at 4:02.00 in the 1,500, then won the 3,000 in 8:39.87.
A senior from Matteson, Ill., Fremouw won the discus at the Don Church Invitational with a throw of 49.82 meters that set a new North Park record. Also at Wheaton, Fremouw placed second with a mark of 14.92 meters in the shot put, as well as a fifth-place performance in the hammer throw at 47.18 meters.
