NAPERVILLE – Matt Crossland, a North Central freshman from Leawood, Kan., is the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week after posting a perfect 3-0 record for the Cardinals against CCIW foes over the weekend.
Crossland notched singles and doubles wins in the Cardinals’ 9-0 CCIW sweep of Carroll on Saturday in New Berlin, Wis. He paired with Daniel Estanislao for NCC’s 8-2 victory at #3 doubles before picking up a 7-6, 6-2 triumph at #5 singles.
The following day at Carthage, Crossland stepped into North Central’s singles lineup late due to injury and answered the call with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at #6.
Crossland is the third CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week from North Central this spring.
