NAPERVILLE – North Central’s Alara Boyd has been named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Wrestling Student-Athlete of the Week, according to a Tuesday afternoon announcement from the league office.
Making her NCC debut, Boyd won twice for the Cardinals on Saturday at the National Wrestling Coaches Association National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
The Muncie, Ind. native prevailed at 143 pounds in the semifinal bout against McKendree, downing seventh-ranked Viktorya Torres via technical fall, 10-0. She later collected a 9-4 win in the final against top-ranked Reese Larramendy of Iowa.
