NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Women’s Volleyball Student-Athletes of the Week on Monday for matches played between Monday, Oct. 7 and Sunday, Oct. 13.
Hitter: Adriana Rodriguez, North Park, Senior (Carolina, Puerto Rico)
Rodriguez earned her second CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week award of the 2024 season after averaging 5.83 points and 5.56 kills over nine sets last week. She attacked at a .307 clip, including a 16-kill performance on 31 swings in NPU’s league win over Wheaton last Wednesday.
Rodriguez closed out the week with a 12-kill, 11-dig double-double against Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Saturday.
Setter: Mary Kate Giesen, North Park, Senior (Rogers, Ark.)
Giesen had 30 assists or more in all three of the Vikings’ three-set matches last week. She had 41 assists – her second match of 40 assists or more in 2024 – in the Vikings’ match at WashU on Saturday.
Defensive: Bailey Houlihan, North Central, Fifth Year (Naperville, Ill.)
Houlihan gave the Cardinals 5.38 digs per set in two matches last week. Houlihan, who previously was selected CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week on Sept. 30, equaled a season-high with 33 digs in NCC’s five-set match versus Illinois Wesleyan last Wednesday. She also notched five service aces for the week.
