CCIW Women’s Wrestling Student-Athlete of the Week (Dec. 11)

NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) selected Aroma Marrufo of North Central the league’s Student-Athlete of the Week in women’s wrestling on Wednesday morning.
 
The freshman from Independence, Mo. was the winner of the 124-pound bracket at the Carthage Classic last Saturday, winning all four of her matches by a final score of 10-0.
 
After back-to-back victories over Itzel Rodriguez of Elmhurst and teammate Bella Bolek, Marrufo picked up a technical-fall win in the semifinal round over Margaret Gillmore of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Marrufo won the title match, 10-0, over Carthage’s Alaina Hollendoner.
