NAPERVILLE – Carthage’s Micah Anderson and Wheaton’s Isaiah Clausen are the selections for Wednesday’s College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Indoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week, according to an announcement from the league office.
 
Track: Micah Anderson, Carthage
Anderson became the new Carthage record-holder in the 1,000 meters after winning the Tadd Metzger Invitational over the weekend with a time of 2:30.65. The performance was the fastest in the league and 12th-fastest in Division III this winter. 
 
Anderson, a junior from Kenosha, Wis., also ran a 52.9-second split on the Firebirds’ winning 4x400 meter relay team. 
 
Field: Isaiah Clausen, Wheaton
At the Tadd Metzger Invitational, Clausen claimed first place in the heptathlon with 5,262 points. The point total established new Wheaton and CCIW records and was fourth-best in Division III this season. 
 
The graduate student also owns CCIW-best performance this season in the 60 meter hurdles and long jump, as his mark of 7.08 meters is 19th on the NCAA list.
