NAPERVILLE – The first College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week of the spring 2024 season is Wyatt Crowell of North Central, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.
Crowell raced to a 7-1 start over the season’s first two weeks, including a perfect doubles record alongside Guillermo Gonzalez from the top of the lineup.
The NCC pairing earned doubles wins in matches against Olivet Nazarene on Jan. 24, 10th-ranked Chicago on Feb. 2 and a sweep of Kalamazoo and Illinois Tech on Feb. 3.
In singles play, the sophomore from Prior Lake, Minn. began the spring dual campaign with a three-set triumph over Paul Saleh of ONU at #4 singles. He also rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 rout of Kalamazoo’s Lucas Preston and bumped up to the third slot in the lineup to take down Nabil Fawaz of Illinois Tech, 7-6, 6-2.
