NAPERVILLE – Illinois Wesleyan’s Aidan Healy was the medalist at the Blueboy Invitational last Friday in Springfield, Ill. and on Wednesday received College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Golf Student-Athlete of the Week honors, the league office announced.
The sophomore from New Lenox, Ill. fired a career-best round of 69 in last Thursday’s opening round at the Rail Golf Course. In Friday’s final round, Healy followed with a 72 to finish the 36-hole event three shots under par for his first career win.
Healy’s effort helped IWU win the 15-team event hosted by Illinois College with a final team score of 583, three shots ahead of runner-up Kirkwood. He is the sixth Illinois Wesleyan student-athlete to earn the weekly award from the CCIW during the 2023-24 season.
