ROCKFORD, Ill. — Illinois Wesleyan held the team lead after the opening round of the 2026 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Golf Championship on Wednesday at Aldeen Golf Club in Rockford, Ill.
The Titans were the only team to finish the first round under par, posting a team score of 4-under. Illinois Wesleyan will enter Thursday’s middle round with a 17-stroke lead over North Park and Augustana, which are tied for second at 13-over. Elmhurst is fourth at 19-over, followed by Millikin in fifth at 20-over.
Illinois Wesleyan’s Pablo Castro also leads the individual standings after shooting a 5-under round on Wednesday. Castro holds a four-stroke lead over North Park’s Alexander Remahl, who is second at 1-under.
The Titans have four players among the top six through 18 holes. Ryan Andrews and Michael Spitzer are tied for third at even par, while Juney Bai is tied for fifth at 1-over with Augustana’s Liam Shannon.
A five-way tie for seventh at 2-over includes North Park’s William Trainor, North Central’s Jake Delaney, Wheaton’s Wyatt Brown, Millikin’s Luke Bradley and Elmhurst’s Brandon Yeh.
The second round is scheduled to begin Thursday at 9 a.m. The opening tee time will include players from Wheaton, North Central and Carroll, while the leaders are scheduled to tee off in the final group at 11:06 a.m.
