NAPERVILLE – Max Svienty of North Central earned his second College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Student-Athlete of the Week selection of the spring and was joined by Carthage’s Joseph White as this week’s recipients, the league office announced Wednesday.

Svienty earned his second weekly award from the league in the season’s first two weeks after running the 13th-fastest 5,000 meters in Division III history at UW-Platteville Invitational on Friday. The senior from Arlington Heights, Ill. finished the race 13:57.03, the top time in the CCIW this spring and the fifth-fastest in Division III in 2024.

White, the indoor national champion in the weight throw in 2024, swept shot and discus at the Wheaton Invitational last weekend. His final mark of 18.08 meters in the shot put ranks first in Division III during the outdoor season. He was also the runner-up in the hammer throw at the event at 57.97 meters.
