CCIW Awaits New Head Coaches in Winter Sports

Women’s Wrestling
Elmhurst announced the hiring of Andrew Demos as the Bluejays’ first-ever women’s coach on May 9. Demos comes to Elmhurst after serving as a member of the coaching staff for both men's and women's wrestling at North Central since 2022, most recently serving as a graduate assistant coach. Demos wrestled for five years at Nebraska-Kearney and was a four-time NWCA Scholar All-American and earned All-Region honors at the 2020 NCAA DII Super Regionals at 197 pounds.
 
Men’s Wrestling
Former North Central assistant Grant Zamin was promoted to the Cardinals’ head coaching position on June 26. Zamin joined the wrestling coaching staff as a graduate assistant in the fall of 2021 before being promoted to a full-time assistant coach role. Prior to North Central, Zamin had an impressive career on the mat at Wisconsin–La Crosse where he was a two-time All-American. Zamin was the No. 1 seed at 157 pounds at the 2020 NCAA Division III Championships that were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
Indoor Track & Field
Carroll announced Josh Hurlebaus as its new men’s and women’s track & field head coach on Aug. 9. Hurlebaus has spent the last two years as a graduate admission counselor at Carroll. He has also spent two stints as an assistant coach for the Pios, with the most recent coming during the 2023 season. As a student-athlete with the Pioneers, Hurlebaus was a four-time All-American as a sprinter and still holds multiple school and Midwest Conference records. He also competed at the USA Track & Field Indoor Championships in 2011. 
 
Men’s Basketball
After serving on an interim basis throughout much of the 2023-24 season, Jordan Delp was officially selected as the 18th head coach at Augustana on Feb. 21. Delp led the Vikings to the program's 18th CCIW Tournament berth in 19 seasons. Delp was brought on as a full-time assistant for the Vikings at the beginning of the 2021-22 season and played for the Vikings from 2004-09 under head coach Grey Giovanine. He was a second team All-CCIW selection in 2006-07.
 
Edwind McGhee was appointed head coach at North Park on April 19. McGhee played a significant role in leading the Vikings to the program's first CCIW Tournament Championship in 2023, guiding North Park to a Sweet Sixteen finish. McGhee joined North Park in 2022 after coaching for four years at NAIA Lincoln. McGhee graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts from DePaul in 2014, where he was a team captain for the Blue Demons and a four-time member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team.
 
Women’s Basketball
Cameron Tucker is the new head coach at Elmhurst, according to a July 24 release. Tucker joins the Bluejays after serving as an assistant coach at Wyoming for the past year. Previously, Tucker spent several years as the associate head coach at DePauw and had assistant coaching stops at Milwaukee, Houston Christian. Tucker attended Ball State, where he earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees.

Millikin selected Kirsten Hammer as its head coach on June 17. Hammer will be joining Millikin after spending five seasons on the staff at Wisconsin-Whitewater, joining the Warhawk staff in 2019 as an assistant coach and serving as Whitewater's associate head coach the last two seasons. In 2018-19, Hammer was an assistant coach at Muskingum. Hammer played two seasons (2012-14) at UW-Whitewater and was a student assistant coach for her final two years
 
Women’s Bowling
On June 4, Dale Lehman was named head coach at Carthage. He joins the Firebirds with over two decades of coaching experience and a history of building successful programs. In 2005, he began his collegiate coaching career at Robert Morris, where he developed both women's and men's bowling programs. His teams won five NAIA National Championships, two runners-up, two USBC Intercollegiate National Championships with a runner-up and a third-place finish, and three National Singles Championships.
