NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) selected its Men’s Indoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week on Wednesday for competitions scheduled between Monday, Dec. 9 and Sunday, Jan. 19.
Track: Jereme Ombogo, North Park, Junior (Houston, Texas)
Ombogo’s first performance of 2025 was a record-breaker against a field of Division I competition, running the 200 meters in 21.76 seconds at the Wolverine Invitational on Jan. 11. It was the fastest time in Division III this season.
Ombogo also tied a CCIW record in 60 meters with a time of 6.78 seconds. For his efforts, Ombogo was named USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week last Monday, Jan. 13.
Field: Lucas Leal, Carthage, Graduate Student (Bartlett, Ill.)
Leal threw 18.96 meters in the weight throw at the Firebird First Invitational last Saturday. The mark ranks second nationally this season and second on Carthage’s all-time list.
