NAPERVILLE — Wheaton will be the coaches’ favorite to repeat when all nine College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) women’s cross country teams descend on Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill. this Saturday for the 2025 CCIW Championship.

The league’s annual championship 6K race is slated to begin at 12:45 p.m. Saukie Golf Course will serve as host for the first time since 2019.
Wheaton is the CCIW defending champion and has won six of the last eight titles since 2016, including the 2019 championship race in Rock Island, Ill. The Thunder collected seven first-place votes and 63 total points to lead this year’s poll.
Illinois Wesleyan earned the remaining two first-place votes and placed second in the poll with 57 points. Elmhurst followed in third with 49 points, while North Central was fourth with 38 points. Millikin (33) and Carthage (32) rounded out a closely contested middle of the standings.
Augustana ranked seventh with 28 points, followed by Carroll (16) and North Park (8).
