NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Carroll University’s Allena O’Connell claimed College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week honors following her performance at the Gil Dodds Invitational, hosted by Wheaton College at St. James Farm.

O’Connell was the top CCIW finisher in the field, placing 17th overall with a time of 22:57.9. The freshman led the Pioneers in their first competition of the season and turned in a strong collegiate debut against a competitive field. O’Connell currently holds the top 6k time in the conference by four seconds. 

O’Connell and the Pioneers’ next competition is the St. Norbert Green Knight Open this Friday.
