ROCK ISLAND, Ill. --- Wheaton earned its second consecutive College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Cross Country Championship and a record 17th overall on Saturday, placing six runners in the top 15 to secure the 2025 team title at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Illinois.
Additionally, Illinois Wesleyan senior Adriana Crabtree delivered a historic performance, racing to victory in 21:05.1 — a personal record that matched the fastest winning time in CCIW Championship history. Elmhurst’s Kathleen Brice ran the same time in her 2003 win at Montrose Harbor in Chicago. Crabtree’s 2025 effort led a Titan lineup that placed four runners among the top 25.
The Thunder finished with 38 team points, pulling away from Elmhurst (92) and IWU (92). Augustana followed in fourth place with 106 points, while North Central (107), Millikin (109), Carthage (138) and Carroll rounded out the team standings (221).
Wheaton had six runners place inside the top 15. Sophomore Abby Rickard paced the Thunder with a runner-up finish in 22:34.2, followed by Elizabeth LaBrin (7th, 22:51.2), Louisa Brorson (8th, 22:54.5), Clodagh O’Bryant (12th, 23:10.9) and Lily Lebo (13th, 23:13.8). Each of Wheaton’s top five scored in the top 13.
Elmhurst senior Molly Roberts, who placed third overall in 22:38.2, was named the CCIW Elite 26 Award recipient, given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average among the All-CCIW First Team honorees.
North Park freshman Marley Gandee collected CCIW First-Year Student-Athlete of the Meet honors after an outstanding debut season. Gandee finished fourth overall in 22:50.0.
