NAPERVILLE – North Central remained the second-ranked team in the new National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) NCAA Women's Coaches Poll released on Friday. Aurora also maintained its standing in the poll, tying for 12th with Adams State.
The Cardinals – less than two weeks removed from winning their third straight College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) championship – logged 90 points in Friday’s announcement, trailing only #1 Iowa. NCC also earned a 38-7 dual win over Aurora on Thursday.
Fourteen NCC student-athletes were nationally ranked on Friday, including top spots for Amani Jones at 124 pounds and Sara Sterner at 131 pounds.
Aurora had 10 points in the new poll. Alexis Janiak was third in the 131-pound national rankings.
