NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) landed eight student-athletes on the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region IV Team and swept the region’s specialty awards in Monday’s announcement from the coaches’ organization.
Loras senior and CCIW Offensive Student-Athlete of the Year Corey Mayotte was named Region IV Player of the Year. Evan Dziadkowiec of Loras, who was voted CCIW First-Year Student-Athlete of the Year last week, was also selected Region IV Newcomer of the Year. Carthage’s JW Kieckhefer collected the Region IV Coach of the Year award for the second time.
CCIW champion Carthage placed four players on the All-Region Team, one of only five teams nationwide with at least four honorees.
Each of the four region teams includes 14 players, and a Player of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, and Coach of the Year were selected for each region. The 56 student-athletes who made All-Region represent 27 different schools.
