NAPERVILLE –- The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Athlete of the Week is Saman Rezaeyan of Augustana, the league office announced Tuesday.
Rezaeyan, a sophomore from Shiraz, Iran, was 4-0 last weekend to help the Vikings clinch a share of the CCIW regular-season championship. He won both singles and doubles contests versus Illinois Wesleyan and Millikin.
In Saturday’s dual at Millikin, Rezaeyan and Tim Philip were doubles winners at #3 with a 6-0 win over Esteban Durand and Max Macke. Rezaeyan then defeated Clayton Maack at 2 singles, 3-6, 7-5, 7-5. Sunday against IWU, Rezaeyan and Phillip posted a 6-2 decision versus Griffin Hammond and Chase Tomecki before Rezaeyan won a singles bout at #2 over Ben Vigneri, 6-3, 6-3.
