NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) selected its Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week on Wednesday for competitions scheduled between Monday, April 21 and Sunday, April 27.
Track: Lina Maatouk, Augustana, Senior (Casablanca, Morocco)
Maatouk clipped nearly four seconds off her personal best to win the unseeded 800 meters at the Drake Relays in 2:07.46 last Thursday. The mark is fifth nationally this season, among top 25 USTFCCCA all-time and leads the CCIW by six seconds.
She also anchored the Drake Relays runner-up sprint medley relay that ran a new Augustana record and a top-five all-time time in Division III history. She then led off the distance medley relay in a 3:44 1200 to help Augie to a second-ranked all-time mark in school history.
Field: Charlotte Frere, Augustana, Junior (Preemption, Ill.)
Frere was the runner-up in the discus at the Drake Relays and top Division III performer in the competition with a throw of 49.95 meters. Her effort this season in the discus tops Division III.
