NAPERVILLE — Momentum continues to build for Illinois Wesleyan, as the Titans climbed to No. 15 in the D3hoops.com Top 25 rankings released Monday
IWU has won six straight games and jumped three spots from No. 18 after another productive week at the Shirk Center. The Titans enter the week with a 12-3 overall record and a 4-2 mark in College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play, standing as the conference’s lone team ranked in the national Top 25.
The week began Wednesday with an 88-79 win over Augustana in which Illinois Wesleyan set a modern-era program record with 11 blocked shots. Senior Nathan Boldt accounted for nearly half of that total, setting an individual modern-era mark with five blocks. Offensively, Noah Cleveland, Karlo Colak and Casen Lawrence each surpassed the 20-point mark.
Illinois Wesleyan followed with a 79-59 victory over North Park on Saturday Junior Mason Funk posted a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Cleveland added his 10th double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 boards. The Titans led wire-to-wire.
Illinois Wesleyan will take its winning streak and national ranking on the road Saturday, traveling to Wheaton for a 7:15 p.m. tipoff at King Arena.
Carthage also drew national attention on Monday, receiving eight points in the latest poll.
