Nine-Game Win Streak Lifts Illinois Wesleyan to No. 12 Nationally

NAPERVILLE — Illinois Wesleyan moved up one spot to No. 12 in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll, released Monday evening.
 
The Titans collected 340 points in the poll, improving from No. 13 a week ago. IWU is 15-3 overall and has won nine consecutive games, its longest winning streak since the 2012-13 season. IWU earned two conference victories last week, posting a 72-62 home win over Millikin on Wednesday before a 60-58 road victory at Carroll on Saturday.
 
At the top of the poll, Emory climbed to No. 1 after moving up from third, earning nine first-place votes and 606 points. Trinity (Conn.) dropped to No. 2 following its first loss of the season but still received 15 first-place votes. 
 
Mary Washington rose from sixth to No. 3, while St. Thomas (Texas) moved from seventh to fourth. Montclair State rounded out the top five, climbing from eighth to fifth and remaining unbeaten at 18-0. WashU, Wisconsin-Platteville, Scranton, Wisconsin-Stevens Point and York (Pa.) fell out of the Top 25 this week.
 
Illinois Wesleyan returns to action at the Shirk Center on Wednesday, hosting Carthage in College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play.
