CCIW Recognizes Crabtree, Payne with Women’s Indoor Track & Field Weekly Honors

NAPERVILLE — Illinois Wesleyan senior Adriana Crabtree and Carthage senior Madison Payne have been selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Indoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week for their performances last weekend. Crabtree earned Women’s Track honors, while Payne was recognized with Women’s Field honors.
 
Track: Adriana Crabtree, Illinois Wesleyan
Crabtree snagged the league’s track honors for the second consecutive week following her performance at the Keck DIII Select last Saturday. She won the 3,000-meter run in 9:42.66, breaking IWU’s program record and setting a new CCIW all-time indoor record. The time surpassed the previous conference mark of 9:44.34 set in 2018. A native of Normal, Ill., Crabtree ranks among the national top 10 in both the mile and the 3,000-meter run.
 
Field: Madison Payne, Carthage
Payne was selected as the CCIW Women’s Field Student-Athlete of the Week after competing at the Tadd Metzger Invite last weekend. She won the shot put with a mark of 13.80 meters, which ranks first in the CCIW and eighth on the NCAA Division III indoor qualifying list. Payne also won the weight throw with a toss of 15.79 meters, the second-best mark in the conference this season.
