NAPERVILLE — The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its latest Men’s Indoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week honors on Wednesday, recognizing North Central’s Alex Knight as Track Student-Athlete of the Week and Augustana’s Magnus Wells as Field Student-Athlete of the Week.
 
Track: Alex Knight, North Central
Knight earned weekly honors from the league following his performance in the 60-meter dash at the F. Lee Slick Track & Field Invitational.
 
The sophomore from Naperville, Ill. posted a time of 6.87 seconds in the event final to finish second, after running 6.89 in the preliminary heats. His finals time is tied for the fastest 60-meter mark in the CCIW this season and ranks 38th nationally in NCAA Division III. The mark also stands as the third-fastest indoor 60-meter time in North Central program history.
 
Field: Magnus Wells, Augustana
Wells, a senior from Hillsboro, Ill., was named the CCIW Field Student-Athlete of the Week after his performance in the weight throw at the Solomon Butler Classic.
 
Wells won the event with a throw of 19.33 meters (63'5"), setting a new Augustana school record. The mark currently ranks fourth nationally in NCAA Division III.
