NAPERVILLE — School-record performances from Elmhurst’s Sarah Hahn and Wheaton’s Grace Crowder led to this week’s College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Student-Athlete of the Week awards.
Track: Sarah Hahn, Elmhurst
Hahn was selected as the CCIW Track Student-Athlete of the Week after competing in the 800-meter run at Grand Valley State’s Extra Weekend Meet. The sophomore from Geneva, Ill. finished eighth overall with a time of 2:13.28, setting an Elmhurst school record. Her time ranks second in the CCIW this season and 45th nationally in NCAA Division III. Hahn will enter the conference championship weekend among the top two performers in the league in the event.
Field: Grace Crowder, Wheaton
Crowder earned CCIW Field Student-Athlete of the Week honors after her performance in the high jump at the Drake Relays. The junior from Bedford, N.H. cleared 1.71 meters to set Wheaton’s outdoor school record, surpassing the previous mark of 1.67 meters set in 2018. Crowder finished fourth overall in a field of 23 competitors and was the highest-placing Division III athlete in the event. Her mark is tied for fifth nationally and is the top high jump performance by a CCIW competitor since 2017.
The performance also gave Crowder both Wheaton high jump records. She previously set the program’s indoor mark in February.
