NAPERVILLE — The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) has named Augustana senior Jakob Stefanowicz its Men’s Golf Student-Athlete of the Week.
Stefanowicz earned medalist honors at the Viking Invitational last weekend at Highland Springs Golf Course. The Park Ridge, Ill. native carded a 1-under-par 143 to secure the first individual victory of his collegiate career in his final regular-season event.
After opening the tournament with an even-par 72 to lead the field after the first round, Stefanowicz followed with a second-round 71. His final round included five birdies over a six-hole stretch.
Stefanowicz’s performance helped Augustana win the team title. The Vikings’ C squad finished first in the nine-team field with a two-round total of 589.
