KENOSHA, Wis. — Carthage held the team lead following the first day of the 2026 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Friday at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.
The host Firebirds finished the opening day with 39 points. Illinois Wesleyan was second with 38 points, followed by Augustana in third with 34. Defending champion Elmhurst and North Central were tied for fourth with 33 points apiece.
Six individual conference titles were awarded Friday. Carthage’s Kylie Florance won the 10,000-meter run in 37:43.91, while Illinois Wesleyan’s Adriana Crabtree won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:36.63.
Augustana had two event winners on the opening day. Charlotte Frere won the hammer throw with a mark of 48.99 meters, and Laina Nelson won the javelin with a throw of 42.97 meters. Elmhurst’s Chloe Selmer placed first in the long jump with a mark of 5.60 meters. North Central’s Gwen Berenyi won the pole vault after clearing 3.96 meters.
The first four events of the heptathlon were also contested Friday. North Central’s Isabella Valentin won three of the four events, placing first in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.24 seconds, the shot put at 9.46 meters and the 200-meter dash in 26.59 seconds. Millikin’s Audrey Remole won the high jump portion of the heptathlon at 1.55 meters.
The championship will conclude Saturday at Art Keller Field. The final three events of the heptathlon — long jump, javelin and 800-meter run — are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Field event finals in the shot put, triple jump, discus and high jump will also be held Saturday.
Running finals are scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. with the 4x100-meter relay and continue through the 4x400-meter relay at 6:15 p.m. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 6:55 p.m.
Tickets will be available at the gate for $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and students. Live video coverage will be available on the CCIW Network, with live results provided by Trackside Timing.
