Bluejays Repeat as CCIW Outdoor Track & Field Champions

KENOSHA, Wis. — Elmhurst won the 2026 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday at Carthage’s Art Keller Field, finishing with 142 points to secure its second consecutive conference title.
 
The Bluejays entered the final day of competition trailing host Carthage, but moved into first place during Saturday’s events and held off North Central, which finished second with 128 points. Illinois Wesleyan placed third with 121.5 points, followed by Wheaton with 116 and Augustana with 112.
 
Elmhurst received individual event wins on Saturday from Tiana Grady and Carmela Woods. Grady won the 100-meter hurdles in 14.74 seconds, while Woods placed first in the 400-meter dash in 57.66 seconds.
 
Wheaton’s Heidi Krekelberg won both short sprint events, taking first in the 100-meter dash in 12.11 seconds and the 200-meter dash in 25.39 seconds. Illinois Wesleyan’s Mackenzie Huber won the 800-meter run in 2:14.12, and North Central’s Alivia Henkel placed first in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:01.19. North Central also won the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:56.06.
 
In Saturday’s field events, Carthage’s Lillian Townsend won the shot put with a mark of 13.19 meters. Illinois Wesleyan’s Imani Ogunribido placed first in the triple jump at 11.99 meters, while Wheaton’s Gracie Crowder won the high jump at 1.62 meters.
 
Illinois Wesleyan’s Adriana Crabtree was selected as the CCIW Track Student-Athlete of the Meet. Crabtree won the 5,000-meter run on Saturday in 17:10.74, breaking the previous CCIW meet record of 17:28.01 set in 2013. She also won the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Friday.
 
Augustana’s Charlotte Frere was named the CCIW Field Student-Athlete of the Meet. Frere won the discus with a mark of 51.07 meters, breaking the previous CCIW meet record of 166-11 set in 2024. She also won the hammer throw title during Friday’s opening day of competition.
 
North Central’s Dylan Moeller was named the CCIW First-Year Track Student-Athlete of the Meet. Moeller contributed to the Cardinals’ second-place team finish with third-place finishes in the 800-meter run in 2:18.79 and the 5,000-meter run in 18:25.74.
 
Augustana’s Leila Sifford was selected as the CCIW First-Year Field Student-Athlete of the Meet. Sifford placed second in the triple jump on Saturday with a mark of 11.56 meters.
 
The Elmhurst coaching staff, led by head coach David Stone, was named the CCIW Coaching Staff of the Year after guiding the Bluejays to back-to-back conference titles for the first time in program history.
