NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Augustana College freshman Madison Barnes carded rounds of 75 and 79 to finish with a 36-hole score of 154 (+10) and finish as co-medalist of the Highland Classic, earning CCIW Women’s Golf Player of the Week honors in the process.

Barnes’ opening round of 75 was the lowest of any golfer in the field and she finished level with teammate Riley Kinsella for first place in the tournament. Behind that effort, the Vikings finished with a team score of 629 that was 11 strokes clear of anyone else in the 12-team event.

Augustana will join two other conference foes – Elmhurst and Millikin – on Thursday, getting a first look at the site of the CCIW Women’s Golf Championship when it competes in the CCIW Preview at the Metamora Fields Golf Club.
