Historic Weekend for North Central’s Madison Place Leads to Weekly Women’s Golf Award

The Cardinal senior set a 36-hole program record at the Wartburg Fall Invitational.

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - North Central College senior Madison Place was named the CCIW Women’s Golf Student-Athlete of the Week on Thursday after shooting a 75-74=149 that put her seventh overall in the field at the Wartburg Fall Invitational and helping the Cardinals to an eighth-place team finish.

Place’s 36-hole score was a North Central school record, besting her own two-round score of 150 at last year’s CCIW Championship.

This weekend, Place and the Cardinals will head downstate to Illinois Wesleyan University and the Ironwood Golf Course in Normal for the IWU Fall Classic.
