Illinois Wesleyan's Ocheltree Claims Home Tournament Title, CCIW Women’s Golfer of the Week Award

Natalie Ocheltree won the IWU Fall Classic on a scorecard playoff and helped the Titans to a team title this past weekend.

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University freshman Natalie Ocheltree was declared the winner of the IWU Fall Classic this past weekend on a scorecard playoff after tying for first over 36 holes of play at the Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, earning College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Women’s Golf Student-Athlete of the Week recognition on Thursday.

Ocheltree helped lift her Illinois Wesleyan ‘A’ team to the team title, carding an even-par round of 72 on Saturday and finishing with a 1-under par round of 71 on Sunday to finish at 143 for the weekend and knotted with two other golfers in the field, though Ocheltree’s score on the back nine on Sunday provided the difference in her earning medalist honors.

With the CCIW Women’s Golf Championship just around the corner, Ocheltree and the Titans will have one more tune-up on Sept. 27-28 at the UW-Whitewater Invite at the TPC Wisconsin in Madison.
