NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s
Matt Reed was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday.
Reed, a freshman from Naperville, Illinois and Metea Valley High School (Finance/Economics major), won the 100-yard butterfly on Friday against Millikin and Illinois Wesleyan, finishing with a time of 54.88. The next day, he finished with an in-season best time of 54.71 in the 100 fly to place third during a meet with Wheaton and Augustana. He also took first in the 200-yard butterfly (in-season best time of 2:01.43), and achieved an in-season best time of 5:01.23 in the 500-yard freestyle as he finished third.
