Augie Sweeps Thursday Finals to Extend Lead at CCIW Men’s Swimming Championship

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. — Defending champion Augustana posted victories in all five events during Thursday’s finals session to highlight the second day of the 2026 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships at the Pleasant Prairie RecPlex. The Vikings extended their lead in the team standings through two days of swimming competition.
 
In the men’s team standings through Thursday’s finals session, Augustana leads the field with 403 points, followed by Carthage (338) and Wheaton (335). Carroll is fourth with 107 points, while Illinois Wesleyan (70), Millikin (58) and North Central (8) round out the standings.
 
Augustana opened the evening with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay, as Luke Rettig, Bjorn Sievert, Tyler Leslie and Oskar Bannister combined for a first-place time of 1:21.91.
 
In individual events, Augustana senior Mark Addison won the 500-yard freestyle in 4:33.46, while senior Tyler Leslie captured the 200-yard individual medley in 1:50.85. Senior Oskar Bannister added a title in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.84, edging teammate Luke Rettig (20.87).
 
The session concluded with the 400-yard medley relay, where Tyler Leslie, Mark Addison, Luke Rettig and Oskar Bannister teamed up for a first-place finish in 3:21.39.
 
The championships continue Friday with preliminary heats at 10:30 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. Friday’s men’s events will include the 200-yard medley relay, 400-yard IM, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke and 100-yard backstroke.
