Vikings Hold Top Spot Entering Final Day at CCIW Men’s Swimming Championship

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. — Augustana remained in front of the field on Friday, fending off a late push from Wheaton during the third day of the 2026 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships at the RecPlex in Pleasant Prairie, Wis.
 
In the team standings through day three, Augustana leads with 749 points, followed by Wheaton (616) and Carthage (521). Carroll is fourth with 141 points, Illinois Wesleyan sits fifth with 132, Millikin is sixth with 118 and North Central has 20.
 
Augustana opened the evening session with a win in the 200-yard medley relay as Luke Rettig, Matthew Meyer, Jake McCormack and Bjorn Sievert combined for a first-place time of 1:31.65.
 
Wheaton earned the first individual title of the night when sophomore Jed Ritchie captured the 400-yard individual medley in 4:04.74. The Thunder added another conference championship in the 100-yard butterfly, where junior Benjamin Coley touched the wall first in 49.43 seconds.
 
Augustana responded with victories in the next two events. Senior Tyler Leslie won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:39.33, narrowly missing the NCAA “B” standard. Fellow senior Mark Addison followed by claiming the 100-yard breaststroke title in 55.94 seconds.
 
Wheaton closed the individual events with a first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke as sophomore Jac Cummings won in 51.13 seconds, edging teammate Benjamin Coley.
 
The championships conclude Saturday at the Pleasant Prairie RecPlex with preliminary heats at 10:30 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. The final day of competition will include the 1650-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly, and the 400-yard freestyle relay.
