Wheaton Duo Earns CCIW Men’s Swimming & Diving Weekly Honors

NAPERVILLE — Wheaton’s Ben Coley and Zak Kohoutek have been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Swimming & Diving Student-Athletes of the Week on Wednesday. 
 
Coley delivered in multiple relay and individual events during the Thunder’s meet against Calvin, while Kohoutek made his collegiate diving debut with top scores on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards.
 
Swimming: Ben Coley, Wheaton
Coley, a junior, delivered a strong performance in the Thunder’s meet against Calvin last Saturday, highlighted by his relay swims. Coley posted a lifetime-best 22.04 split on the butterfly leg of the winning 200 medley relay and also added an in-season best 45.89 split on the 400 freestyle relay. 
 
Individually, he recorded an in-season best 21.72 in the 50 freestyle and a lifetime-best 4:58.39 in the 500 freestyle.
 
Diving: Zak Kohoutek, Wheaton
Kohoutek made an impressive debut in his first collegiate diving meet, competing on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards. The freshman posted team-high scores of 145.50 and 134.30, respectively, and currently ranks fourth in the conference on both events.
